APTQI Celebrates World Physical Therapy Day to Recognize the Importance of the Profession
September 8 is World Physical Therapy Day: a day focused on recognizing and celebrating the value of the physical therapy profession and the physical therapists who help patients recover, move better, and live healthier lives across the globe.
Despite what many may think, physical therapy extends far beyond recovery from injury or surgery. It helps patients improve their strength, mobility, flexibility, and balance; protect their independence; and prevent future injuries or health ailments – particularly when it comes to avoiding falls. By focusing on both treatment and prevention, physical therapists are specially trained to give patients the tools they need to build strength and stay steady on their feet.
A large part of physical therapy is developing individualized treatment plans that help support patients with pain relief while maintaining and improving physical function. Physical therapists also help patients identify potential health risks and create proactive care plans.
APTQI is proud to represent a robust membership of passionate physical therapists, therapy practices, and vendors who provide community-based care to patients nationwide! This World Physical Therapy Day, we want to acknowledge the valuable care provided by therapists and industry partners that makes a better quality of life possible for patients.
Advocating for the future of physical therapy ensures providers can continue sharing their expertise, dedication, and compassion. From supporting bipartisan efforts to prevent falls to advancing sustainable Medicare reimbursement, we are committed to strengthening access to care that patients depend on.
