APTQI Kicks Off 2026 Congressional Tour Program with Clinic Visits Across the US
The APTQI 2026 Congressional Tour Program is off to a great start; welcoming lawmakers and their staff into APTQI member clinics across the country to learn more about the importance of physical therapy to patients, providers, and the healthcare system.
Through this program, members of Congress, along with their policy and district staff, meet with APTQI member executives, clinic directors, physical therapists, and patients to gain a firsthand view of the benefits of physical therapy services at the local level – including what services they provide, what patient populations they serve, and how physical and occupational therapy benefit their community. The tours also allow APTQI members to discuss key legislative issues, including payment reform, quality initiatives, and patient access to high-quality outpatient care.
While hosting clinic tours, APTQI members are asking lawmakers to cosponsor bipartisan legislation to increase access to falls prevention services – the Stopping Addiction and Falls for the Elderly (SAFE) Act (S. 2612/H.R. 1171). Issues addressed during visits also include the need for fair and stable Medicare reimbursement for healthcare providers, including physical therapists.
In 2026, CORA Physical Therapy, Cawley Physical Therapy, Drayer Physical Therapy Institute, Golden Bear Physical Therapy, Ivy Rehab Network, JAG Physical Therapy, Therapy Partners Group, and Upstream Rehabilitation have welcomed Representatives Aaron Bean (FL-04) and Scott Perry (PA-10) and staff from the offices of Senators Jon Husted (OH), Andy Kim (NJ), Dave McCormick (PA), and Adam Schiff (CA) to clinics from coast to coast. Thank you to all APTQI members, clinic staff, and legislative offices for participating!
