APTQI Welcomes Confluent Health to Board of Directors

WASHINGTON – The Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation (APTQI) is pleased to announce Confluent Health as the Alliance’s newest Board member. Working as APTQI’s partner, Confluent Health will support APTQI’s efforts to affect positive legislative and regulatory change in order to protect the future of the physical therapy profession. Together, Confluent Health will work with APTQI to support advocacy initiatives to preserve Medicare funding for physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as to position physical therapy as the first stop for patients looking to address their musculoskeletal concerns.

“Our commitment to ensuring access to quality physical and occupational therapy for all patients in need of care includes advocacy on behalf of our profession and the individuals we care for at Confluent Health,” said Larry Benz, President and Chief Executive Officer, Confluent Health. “We share APTQI’s vision for underscoring the value of physical and occupational therapy to our healthcare system and ensuring healthcare decision makers recognize that value for both patients and payers.”

Confluent Health is a family of physical therapy and occupational therapy companies transforming healthcare by strengthening private practices, developing and educating highly effective clinicians, and lowering healthcare costs through workplace wellness and injury prevention. Confluent Health practices have specialized therapists who use the latest research and technology to deliver the best possible outcomes.

“We look forward to working with Confluent Health to continue our fighting for funding stability (and longer-term improvement) for the entire outpatient physical therapy community to preserve patient access  as well as to deliver care through a more effective and efficient pathway with physical therapy first. As a team of dedicated Companies and individuals, we are committed to helping patients reach their personal best, and we’re confident Confluent Health will be a valuable addition to APTQI’s Board and membership,” said Chris Reading, President of APTQI and CEO of U.S. Physical Therapy.

With the addition of Confluent Health to the APTQI Board, the membership now represents 5,500 therapy clinics across the country. As an active and growing coalition, APTQI welcomes all new members who share our common vision for the future of our profession.
