2026 Congressional Tour Program Heats Up Through the Summer Months
This summer, APTQI members nationwide continued to host members of Congress and their staff at local clinics. We thank all APTQI member clinics and therapists who hosted these tours to demonstrate the incredible value we add to patient care and the healthcare delivery system.
These tours allow providers and patients to share their experiences and educate lawmakers on the benefits of community-based physical therapy clinics to local communities. These tours also provide the opportunity for clinic executives, therapists, patients, and other staff members to have important policy conversations about issues impacting the profession.
During the tours, APTQI members highlighted the Stopping Addiction and Falls for the Elderly (SAFE) Act (S. 2612/H.R. 1171), bipartisan legislation to improve patient access to fall prevention services and recognize physical therapists as the experts in fall prevention. If passed, the SAFE Act would help ensure that older Americans nationwide have access to the preventative care that allows them to live active, independent lives.
Since June, our members hosted 13 tours and welcomed Representatives Madeleine Dean (PA-04) and Mike Lawler (NY-17) and staff from the offices of Senators Representatives Jake Auchincloss (MA-04), John James (MI-10), Hank Johnson (GA-04), Jared Moskowitz (FL-23), Pat Ryan (NY-18), Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), Lori Trahan (MA-03), and Daniel Webster (FL-11), and Senators Ron Johnson (WI), Mark Kelly (AZ), Rick Scott (FL), and Todd Young (IN).
