APTQI Recognizes National Physical Therapy Month
This October, APTQI is proud to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month – an opportunity to spotlight the benefits of physical therapy and the important work our members do in supporting strong patient outcomes. Whether a patient’s goal is prevention or rehabilitation, physical therapy is directly linked to lasting mobility, independence, and overall improved quality of life.
Physical therapists across the country work every day to help patients heal through the power of movement. Therapists create personalized plans to support patients through their individual health journeys, whether that be recovery after surgery, injury, or combating chronic illness. Through robust, evidence-based solutions, therapists improve the mobility of patients to build strength and prevent future setbacks before they occur.
National Physical Therapy Month is also a time to highlight the broader value physical therapy brings to communities. By reducing pain and improving mobility through movement, patients can avoid invasive procedures, long-term—often habit-forming—medication usage, and potentially avoid costly hospital visits. Physical therapy enables patients to live healthier, more active lifestyles, both comfortably and independently within their communities.
Given the extensive benefits of physical therapy, ensuring access to care in communities across the country is vital. That’s why, this National Physical Therapy Month, we’re not only highlighting the important work of our members, but also calling on Congress to pass the Stopping Addiction and Falls for the Elderly (SAFE) Act (S. 2612/H.R. 1171), bipartisan legislation to improve access to falls prevention measures, including physical therapy, for older Americans.
If you have not done so already, please urge your lawmakers to support the SAFE Act. CLICK HERE to take action.
Thank you to all our member companies, employees, and advocates for your contributions to the profession. Happy National Physical Therapy Month!
