APTQI Welcomes New Members ActivePT and North Coast Medical
National coalition of providers and vendors continues to expand membership to strengthen federal advocacy efforts to protect patient access to outpatient physical therapy
Washington, DC – The Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation (APTQI) today announced the addition of ActivePT as an affiliate member and North Coast Medical as a vendor affiliate member. APTQI welcomes these organizations to its growing community of physical therapy providers and vendor partners working together to advance public policies that protect access to outpatient, community-based physical and occupational therapy services.
“APTQI extends an enthusiastic welcome to ActivePT and North Coast Medical as they join our growing network of physical therapy professionals and business partners,” said Nikesh Patel, PT, DPT, Executive Director of APTQI. “The contributions of these new members will add incredible value to our industry expertise and national footprint of passionate advocates, allowing us to advocate more broadly for policies to improve patient access to physical and occupational therapy services in communities across the U.S.”
ActivePT is an outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine provider with approximately 20 clinics across southern Minnesota. Guided by its core focus of making people better, both its team members and the communities it serves, the ActivePT team helps patients achieve their goals. It also helps team members reach their own practice goals through a Build Your Own Practice (BYOP) philosophy. Built on Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose, ActivePT develops clinicians through intentional clinician and leadership mentorship programs.
“At ActivePT, we are your outpatient therapy family. We invest in our team members and bring our patients into that family, using the patient’s goals, coupled with our passion and expertise, and the latest research to deliver the best outcomes,” said Brian McQuilkin, PT, DPT, OCS, CEO and owner of ActivePT. “We joined APTQI to advocate for predictability and stability for physical and occupational therapy providers.”
North Coast Medical, APTQI’s newest vendor member, a strategic supply chain partner, manufactures and distributes physical rehabilitation products across the continuum of care, from post-operative clinical evaluation through independent at-home recovery. The company also develops proprietary software that supports rehabilitation practices in providing high-quality, comprehensive care.
“North Coast Medical is committed to supporting physical and occupational therapists with the clinical tools and equipment they use to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore independence. Joining APTQI allows us to bring that experience to policy discussions affecting reimbursement, practice stability, and access to community-based rehabilitation care,” said Mark E. Biehl, Chief Executive Officer at North Coast Medical. “Our membership will further enable us to continue advocating for policies that protect patient access to high-quality, cost-effective, community-based physical therapy services.”
APTQI is honored to add ActivePT and North Coast Medical to its growing community of physical therapy advocates who are actively working to advance the bipartisan Stopping Addiction and Falls for the Elderly (SAFE) Act (H.R. 1171 / S. 2612) and stabilize Medicare reimbursement in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule system, including support for the Patients First Act (H.R. 9693).
